15 AUSTRALIAN BANDS YOU SHOULD BE LISTENING TO: VOL V

It's everyone's favourite time of the month again, New band day! Australia has a seemingly endless supply of talented musicians of all genres and sizes, and today we have another fifteen that you should be listening to, so let's get into it.


  1. Five Buck Kid


Five Buck Kid (Formerly known as Jacob Fitzgerald) are an Independent Indie Rock band from Naarm/Melbourne. FBK debuted in 2022 with their single Muse; followed by EPs Jacob Fitzgerald & The Electric City (2022) and It's Getting Lonely in Boston Avenue (2024) along with several singles, most recently I Don't Mind released on August 5th.


FBK has previously toured with Loose Bricks, Selfish Sons, The Good Love and appeared at Knight and Day Festival in 2021.


Five Buck Kid will be on their I Don't Mind Tour from October 2nd to 24th with tickets available at the link.

  1. Temperate


Temperate are a Rock 'n' Roll band coming out of Gumbaynggirr/Coffs Harbour, NSW. Temperate debuted in 2023 with their single Adrenaline; releasing the EP Temperate in 2025 and several singles, most recently I've Lost Control on February 12th.


Temperate have previously toured with The Screaming Jets, You Am I and Spiderbait.

  1. Witchgrinder


Naarm/Melbourne Industrial Metal Demons Witchgrinder hit the scene in 2010 with their debut single Trioxin 2-4-5, following up with Albums The Demon Calling (2013), Haunted (2015) and Nothing Stays Buried (2024).


Witchgrinder have previously toured with the likes of Lord of the Lost, Combichrist, Static-X, Powerman 5000, Perturbator, Ghost, Valhalore, Saliva, King Parrot, Drowning Pool, Wednesday 13 amongst many other talented international and local acts. Witch grinder have appeared at the first ever Wacken Open Air Warm-up Party 2026, Dead of Winter 2026, Necrosonic Festival 2025, Storm Rider Festival, Metal to the Max Festival, Metal United Down Under, Wreathfest, Hell on the Bay IX, Flippin the Bird, Halloween Spookshow, Our Party Festival, Crack The Keg and Ye Gods of Metal amongst many others.

  1. Dregg


Naarm/Melbourne band Dregg delivers "a sonic assault that seamlessly fuses elements of metalcore, punk, hiphop, hardcore and electronic music..." - Triple J Unearthed. Dregg released their debut single Sorry Daddy in 2016, followed by EPs No Comment (2016) and The Dregg EP (2017) with Albums The Dreggmusic Mixtape (2022) and The Art of Everything (2024).


Dregg has previously performed alongside Gwar, King 810, Electric Callboy, Deez Nuts, Stick To Your Guns, Ocean Grove, Hellions, Dream on Dreamer, Counterparts, Stray From The Path, Atreyu, Alpha Wolf and Windwaker amongst many others. Dregg has appeared at Uncaged, Yours and Owls, Download 2020, Thrashville, Sonic Temple, Sea Shepherd Charity Show, Mini Fest 2 and Terror Loud TL5.


Dregg will be performing at the sold out Hellbound Cruise as well as supporting Windwaker (tickets available here) and Skindred (tickets available here).

  1. Mezmik


Mezmik is a Melodic Metal band from Meanjin/Brisbane, hitting the scene in 2023 with their debut single Flames and Fury, followed by their Album Unlikely Hero in 2024.


Mezmik have appeared on Siren Fest, Killer Queens, Hostile Fest, Gothic Xmas, Diamond Valley Distortion, Rock Beats Depression and Rock Sisters United.

  1. Elision


Self proclaimed Schizo-Metal band from Gadigal/Sydney, Elision debuted in 2019 with their single The End of Man; since releasing EP There's More To Us Than You and I (2021) along with several singles, most recently ...And Still You Won't Let Go (2026).


Elision has previously performed alongside King 810, Miss May I, Diamond Construct, Silent Planet, Currents, The Gloom in the Corner and Thornhill.

  1. The Gloom in the Corner


The Gloom in the Corner are a Death Rock band from Naarm/Melbourne, who claim, "storytelling, done the wrong way". They debuted with their Album Fear Me in 2016, following it up with EPs Homecoming (2017) and Pandora's Box (2022) Albums Flesh & Bones (2019), Trinity (2022) and Royal Discordance (2026).


TGINC has toured alongside Escape The Fate, King 810, Angelmaker, Aviana, Make Them Suffer, Left To Suffer, Thornhill, Cane Hill, Hanabie, Vended, Void of Vision, Asking Alexandra, Wage War, Fit For A King amongst many others. TGINC has appeared at Off The Record Hell on the Bay, Full Tilt, Knight and Day, Halloween Hysteria, Good Things 2022, Upload Fest, MoshFest along with a variety of other festivals and tours.

  1. Sienna Skies


Gadigal/Sydney Emo band Sienna Skies took to the scene in 2009 with their debut Album Truest of Colours, followed by Albums The Constant Climb (2012), Seasons (reissue) (2015), A Darker Shade of Truth (2016), EPs Don't Let Me Go (2024) Only Change Is Permanent (2024) and several singles including most recently Slowburn (August 7th).


Sienna Skies has previously toured with Memphis May Fire, Blessthefall, Hawthorn Heights, Of Mice & Men, Silverstein, Polaris, Dream on Dreamer, The Getaway Plan, Escape The Fate, Confession, In Hearts Wake amongst many others. Sienna Skies has appeared at Converge Festival, Elated Music Festival, Darkside Fest, Froth & Fury, Us Fest, Fight To Survive, Outbreak 666mas Party, amongst others, as well as Europe and Asia tours.

  1. Primrose Path


Boorloo/Perth Alt Prog band Primrose Path debuted in 2021 with their EP Matriffe, followed by their Album Ruminations in 2025.


Performed have previously toured with Opeth, VOLA, Karnivool, Caligular’s Horse and RinRin and appeared at Progzilla, Prog Tendencies, Hornography, Rock Nights at the Baltimore and Underground Annihilation.


Primrose Path will be performing alongside Evergrey on 20th of October The Rosemount, Perth (tickets available here) and with Katatonia at Magnet House Perth on October 11th (tickets available here).

  1. Melrose Avenue


Melrose Avenue is a Pop-Metal band from Gadigal/Sydney who debuted with their single Complicated (Metal Version) in 2022, followed by their EP Fool and the Beggar (2024) along with a plethora of singles, most recently Taste, Bad Guy and Cemetery Friend in 2026.


Melrose Avenue recently returned home after a UK/EU tour and has previously toured with Ice Nine Kills and appeared on Calan Mai, Darkside Fest, Alpen Flair, Download XXXIII, Rock For People and Tuska.

Melrose Avenue will be touring throughout the USA as part of The Return of Taste of Chaos and the UK and Europe throughout January and February.

  1. Oceans & Omens


Oceans & Omens are a metalcore band from Boorloo/Perth, hitting the scene in 2021 with their single Deliverance, since releasing EPs I: Descent (2021) and II: Aether (2024).


Oceans & Omens have previously performed with Parkway Drive, Testament amongst a plethora of local acts and appeared at Metal United Down Under, Music on Murray, Storm Rider, Heavies and Bevvies, A Festival Flotsam, Parkway Drive Preparty, The Throwdown Before Christmas and Hornography.


Oceans & Omens will be performing at Metal Fest 2 on September 26th (you can get your tickets here) and Dark Down South 3 on November 20-21 (tickets available here).

  1. Tomohung


Tulmur/Ipswich Skate Punk-Metal band Tomohung formed in 1996. Tomohung haS five singles on Spotify currently, Had A Bad Day, Alien, Cushing Street and Sadder Than in 2025, with I Killed My Friend in 2026.


Tomohung has previously performed at SlugFest 1, Weekend Warriors, WWB Pre Drinks, Dark Sparks, Sunstate Sound Collective, Punk For People, Where We Belong, The Backyard Party 2, Punk Smorgasbord and Fuck Cancer Vent Space amongst many others.


Tomohung will appear at the sold out Flangipanis show on August 22nd and Punk in the Moto Park on September 12th (All Ages and entry $2) and with Munkey Town on the 28th of August (Free Entry Event).

  1. All This Filth


All This Filth from Boorloo/Perth in 2008, showcasing a blend of groove, thrash, death metal and hardcore. ATF released their debut Album 11 Past in 2011, followed by EP Programmed to Suffer (2013), Albums Misery Season (2019) and Tomorrow Will Be Better? (2024) and 2026 Singles Drown in Misery: The Zero Signal Remixes.


ATF has previously appeared alongside Powerman 5000, Machine Head, Fear Factory, King Parrot, (Hed) P.E., Nonpoint, Sepultura, Polaris and Fit For An Autopsy. ATF have performed at WAMFest, Wacken Metal Battle, Slayfest, POX-Eclipse, Stormrider Festival, KIllfest, Munk&PetalFestival, Hollowfest and Froth & Fury.

  1. Future Static


Naarm/Melbourne Metalcore band Future Static debuted in 2018 with their single Daylight, following it up with EPs Want (2018) and Fatalist (2020), Album Liminality (2023) and most recently, single Ornaments & Memories on August 5th.


Future Static have previously toured with Lacuna Coil, Don Broco, Atreyu, Memphis May Fire, Enter Shikari, BabyMetal, Imminence, Humanity's Last Breath, Ankor amongst others. F.S. has previously toured the EU and the UK as well as appearing on To The End, AM//PM Emo Night XMAS!, Siren Sounds, Froth & Fury and Helltown Outdoors.

  1. Broken Earth


Sydney self-proclaimed Nu-Metalcore boy band Broken Earth debuted with their track Dance in the Dark in 2020. Broken Earth have since released several singles, most recently Shiver and Ready To Talk.


Broken Earth has previously performed alongside bands such as Banks Arcade, Harroway, Windwaker and Heartline. If you want to catch Broken Earth live, you can find them on tour with Skindred on September 5th at the Metro Theatre in Sydney, tickets available at the link.
