15 QUEENSLAND BANDS YOU NEED TO BE LISTENING TO...

Queensland is rapidly becoming the state to watch where alternative music is concerned. Following in the footsteps of Queensland legends like The Amity Affliction, Powderfinger and The Butterfly Effect, the scene is

booming and rising as one in the sunshine state. As a keen observer of the scene myself, I have had the pleasure of watching it grow over my many years of standing amongst the crowd, as the ego was dropped and the helping hand was raised. After seeing positive changes around and upon the stage it makes me proud to be on the ground of the uprising of many amazingly talented musicians that are pushing this scene forward. Picking bands to put on this list was immensely difficult as there is such a large pool to talk about, however, after careful consideration I finally made the decision to talk about fifteen of my personal favourites. This will be the first of many Australian band lists to come, but as a Queenslander, it felt right to kick this whole thing off with bands from my own location. So lets twp-step into it and hopefully you will be introduced to some new bands that you will come to love as much as I do.
