REPRIEVER: FRAGILE SINGLE REVIEW
Metalcore band of Gadigal/Syney, Repriever, unleashed their latest single, Fragile at midnight today. Repriever formed in 2018, debuting on the airwaves in 2019 with their EP Idle Minds, followed by several singles and the January 2026 EP release, Fracture. I have been excited for this one for a while, so let's jump straight into the break down. Spiderweb cracks, forming on the glass, The face that's staring back is looking like a mask, I can see the surface is just about to break, And all pieces they fall in place

along with me. Fragile is a landmark track from Repriever, cementing their place in the alternative scene. The first listen through over a month ago had me impatient for the release, and it currently sits in contention for my Aussie Metalcore song release of the year. The Nu-metal, rap, electronica and progressive influences creates an entirely unique soundscape that stands out in the crowd. The melody takes you on a spine tingling journey of spiralling into yourself, feelings of loss of control, anguish and outburst that come with suffering from mental health issues. The whole track contains an immense pressure that beats like a heart

experiencing a panic attack; moments of restriction before exploding into a rapid beat. The build up to the drops hold you in stasis, waiting for the moment where everything comes crashing onto you like a tsunami. It is impossible to sit still during Fragile, trust me I tried, but the track is such a raw expression of pain and emotion that you will be caught in the grip of the music without a chance of escape. Am I running away from all i'm worth? Too fragile to ever make this work? You should fear what you don't understand (but I won't). I can't bear the weight anymore. Hey there! Do you wanna hear some of the thoughts that i've got on my mind? (On my mind) I'm loving life, but why am I so scared of it all the fucking time? (Fucking Time).
A first for the band, "Fragile" was written, recorded, mixed and mastered entirely in-house. The song explores the stages of depression and the fight to pull yourself out of a dark place. Written from the perspective of vocalist Cameron Little, the track draws on his own experiences with depression and mental illness, confronting the struggle of working through difficult times and making it through to the other side.
Sick of all these half truths, empty venues, hollow virtues, All I wanna do is make a noise that'll shake a room and get everyone to fucking move (fucking MOVE). Fragile is a first hand account of depression and the battle to release yourself from its merciless grip. The track acts like a

therapy session, allowing you to scream along to the lyrics and release your emotions. Fragile opens the floor to the most vulnerable places of mental health to show you, you are not alone, offering a space to feel the deep feelings. With the confession of being stuck in a situation where you pretend to be fine, while drowning in darkness on the inside, unable to just do what you want to make yourself happy, the song hits like a bus. Cameron's vocals throughout Fragile, encapsulate the sadness, terror, anger and hurt of mental struggles and I more than once was lost in the emotions his vocal track emitted. Fall apart right next me, I'll take every shattered piece, And place them back in harmony, These fragile parts of you, (These fragile parts of you), These fragile parts of you, Will start to look like me.
