WHISPERFEST IV BREAKDOWN

WhisperFest returns for the fourth year on April 11th at the Macquarie Inn in Dubbo, New South Wales. WhisperFest IV boasts eight bands from three states with zero crossovers. Whisperhead are doing the most for the local community by extending a hand to High School band Sokie. So let's jump into the line-up and breakdown the history of the bands attending. Keep an eye out next month for the review of the day.
Sokie
"Sokie formed at Macquarie Anglican Grammar School in early 2025, and after learning a few covers of their favourite grunge bands such as Nirvana, Alice in Chains and Radiohead, started performing at school and at Crossroads. Last year they signed up with MacqCon Rock School program, and started performing at Greenbeats as well, refining their musicianship and performance experience. Now they’ll be taking on the Macquarie Inn Dubbo stage at WHISPERFEST IV. This year, Sokie hopes to write their own music with an eye to recording, as well as play more shows. Dead By Dawn
"Hailing from Sydney, Australia, Dead By Dawn forge a savage blend of brutal groove metal built on crushing riffs, pounding rhythms, and uncompromising intensity. Spacegoat
Forming in 2018, Melodic Progressive Groove Metal band Spacegoat took to the seen with their debut EP '33' (2019), followed by 'Catharsis' (2021) with several singles including most recently in 2025 for the drop of 'Spit The Poison' and 'Concede Defy'.
Spacegoat have previously toured with the likes of: War Bear, Ironstone, Arkángel, Total Buzzkill, Witchgrinder, Roronoah and Soulsleep amongst many others.

Saralisse
Fantasy Folk Metal band Saralisse have previously performed at Quest fest, Ram It Down Metal Fest, Bangers and Thrash, Steel Assassins 10, Metal United Down Under and Reigning Metal amongst others.

Deadweight 80
Hardcore band Deadweight 80 unleashed 'Strawberry Pills' as their debut single in 2019. Deadweight 80 have since released a plethora of singles, most recently with the three-track 'Familiar Shades of Violet' in 2025.
Deadweight 80 have previously toured with Ocean Grove, Nicholas Cage Fighter, Arkángel and Zeolite; as well as appearing on Munk & Petal, I'm Not A Burden, Halloween Human Harvest and Dead By Daylight amongst many others.

Arkángel
Albury Metalcore band Arkángel hit the scene in 2023 with the single 'Suffocate' following it up with their EP 'Arkángel' (2025) and singles 'Haunting My Dreams' (2025) and 'Tongue of Lies' (2026).
Arkángel, on top of their festival Arkfést, have previously toured with
Hands Like Houses, Dream On Dreamer, Body Prison, GhostSeeker, Soulsleep, The Gloom In The Corner, Deadskin and Nicholas Cage Fighter amongst others as well as appearing on SlugFest.

DisKust
Gold Coast Metalcore band DisKust debuted in 2017 with the single 'Maniac' followed by Albums 'A Dark Place' (2022) and 'Skin Cage' (2026) along with a plethora of singles.
DisKust have previously toured with King Parrot, Void of Vision, Alpha Wolf, Stepson, Valhalore, Total Buzzkill and Bad Juju along with featuring on KillFest and Halloween Hysteria

Whisperhead
Whisperhead hit the scene in 2021 with the single 'Swallow You' followed by several singles including 'HFTC' (2023), 'My Game, My Rules' and 'Sterilise' in 2025.
Whisperhead have previously performed alongside Diskust, Total Buzzkill, Body Prison, GhostSeeker, and appeared at Bowlorama.
Whisperhead will be performing at DepFest March 28th and IronFest April 18th & 19th and Nowhere Festival June 13th & 14th and Thrashville June 27th.
