15 AUSTRALIAN BANDS YOU SHOULD BE LISTENING TO...

We kicked off this series talking about 15 Queensland bands you should be listening to (which you can read here,) and this time we won't be restricting ourselves to Queensland. When putting together these lists, I will be trying to avoid writing about bands I have previously written reviews etc to expand awareness.


1 Storm The Crown - Tarntanya/Adelaide, SA


Adelaide Metalcore band Storm The Crown debuted onto the alternative scene in 2023 with their EP 'Valleys' to be followed by 2025 EP release 'Ritual'.


S.T.C has previously toured with and on Bleeding Through, Dead By Daylight, I'm Not A Burden, The Day Heavy Came Home, Hot Mess Fest, A Nightmare On Grote Street, Metal United Down Under amongst others.

My Favourite Song: Bones



2 Mélancolía - Naarm/Melbourne, VIC


Perth, Melbourne based blackened nu-metal band Mélancolía took to the scene in 2022 with single 'Horror_Ethereal', followed by Albums 'HissThroughRottenTeeth' (2023) and 'random.access.misery' (2025).


Mélancolía have previously toured with Cradle of Filth for their 2025 Europe Tour, Till Lindemann, Suffocation, Thy Art Is Murder, Angelmaker, To The Grave and Gravemind, as well as performing at Froth & Fury Festival 24.

3 Ten Thousand Crows - Gadigal/Sydney, NSW


10K Crows is a two-piece horror-inspired deathcore band with two Albums in their discography, 'Macabre Arcana' (2021) and 'Coven' (2025).


10K Crows does not currently tour, but if they announce a tour you best believe we will be talking about it here.

4 Zeolite - Naarm/Melbourne, VIC


Deathcore band Zeolite debuted their first single 'Eathmover'. Zeolite has since released EPs 'Zeolite' (2016) and 'Sermones Mortis' (2018), and Albums 'Proselytism' (2021) and 'L'Appel Du Vide' (2025).


Zeolite has previously toured with The Red Shore, Alpha Wolf and Deez Nuts, amongst others, as well as performing at Dead By Daylight, Southern Death Festival and Necrosonic Festival 24.

5 Irken Armada - Gadigal/Sydney, NSW


Sydney Metalcore band Irken Armada have one EP 'A sign To Kill' (2024) in their discography with two singles 'The House of No Tomorrow' (2025) and 'Love Soaked Wound' (2026).


Irken has previously performed at AM//PM Emo night on several occasions and toured with the likes of Inertia, Bloom and Cancer Bats.

6 Father Deer Hands - Gadigal/Sydney, NSW


Sydney Post Hardcore band Father Deer Hands hit the scene in 2019 with their single 'No Happy Endings', before releasing a plethora of singles and their debut EP 'Choke On Dirt As It Greets You' (2025).


F.D.H has an impressive tour history with supports slots for Windwaker, Sienna Skies, Papa Roach, The Used, Saosin, The Getaway Plan along with appearances at Darkside Fest, AM//PM, Good Things 2022 and Reboot Festival.

7 Heists - Gadigal/Sydney, NSW


Sydney Metalcore band Heists debuted in 2017 with their single 'Outrage', followed by several singles, Album 'Troubled Souls' (2022) and EP 'Beneath The Surface' released in 2025.


Heists have previously toured alongside Ocean Sleep, Windwaker, Northlane, From Ashes To New, Stepson, The Gloom in the Corner, Stick To Your Guns, Varials, Comeback Kid, Deez Nuts, Confession and Evergreen Terrace amongst many others.

8 Signals - Tarntanya/Adelaide, SA


Debuting onto the scene in 2020 with single 'Blackened Crown', Metalcore band Signals hit the ground running with EPs 'Disgrace' (2021) and 'Screaming Out Into Nothing' (2022), followed by several single including the latest 'Permanence' in 2024.


Signals have previously toured with Thornhill, Heists, Diamond Construct and Alpha Wolf.

9 All Monsters Are Human - Naarm/Melbourne, VIC


Nu-Metalcore band AMAH first appeared on the scene in 2024 with their single 'Body Bag', and have since released four more singles, including the latest 'See The Signs' in August, 2025.


AMAH has previously toured with Destroy Fear, Outer Worlds and Coffin Carousel.


AMAH will be performing on February 21st at The Workers Club in Fitzroy, VIC with Malicy, Judo Chop, Serpentry and Get Rekt. Tickets are available at the link.

My Favourite Song: Body Bag



10 Miruthan - Mulubinba/Newcastle, NSW


Miruthan is a Dark Folklore inspired Black Metal band from Newcastle who have unleashed their style onto the scene since 2023 with the single 'Land of the Damned'. Miruthan have since dropped their EP 'Cult Of The Dead'


Miruthan has previously toured with Infected Rain across Europe and performed on Festivals: Off The Tracks, Krampusnacht: Wretched Yule, Thrashville, Nowhere Festival, Holurween III, Barnassault 3 and Metal United Down Under, Hell Nation IV and Ram It Down Metal Fest.

My Favourite Song: Land of the Damned



11 Hands of the Hollow - Naarm/Melbourne, VIC


Hands of the Hollow is a brand new Metalcore band with seven singles released between October and November, and I was lucky enough to find the band two days after the release of debut single 'Flesh or Ghost'. Not much is known about H.o.t.H, with the line "All will be revealed soon" plastered across their social media.

12 T-rex Autopsy - Gadigal/Sydney & Regional NSW


Progressive Metal T-rex Autopsy debuted onto the scene with 'Heavy Metal Awesome Sandwich'. They have since added several singles and Album 'Cygnus Atratus' (2025) to their discography.


T-rex have previously won the Good Things NSW Battle of the Bands 2025 as well as appearing on Krampusnacht: Wretched Yule, The Monster Mosh, Elton Chong Blood Sport, Thrashville, Nowhere Festival, amongst many others.

13 To The Grave - Gadigal/Sydney, NSW


Vegan Deathcore band To The Grave unleashed their musical stylings on the world with 'Born Dead' in 2015 and have added Albums 'Global Warming' (2019), 'Epilogue' (2021), 'Director's Cut' (2023), 'Hear Evil, See Evil: The Epilogue Session' (2023), 'Offcuts' (2023), 'Everyone's A Murderer' (2024) and 'Still' (2025) since.


TTG have previously supported Lorna shore, I Killed The Prom Queen, Emmure, Suffocation, Angelmaker, Signs of the Swarm (Europe Tour), Carnifex (U.S. Tour), Thy Art Is Murder, Shadow Of Intent and SoulFly on top of performing at Brutal Assault Festival, Summer Breeze Festival, Vegan Camp Out Festival, Death Feast Open Air Festival, Motocultor Festival, Core Fest, Monster Mosh Festival, Good Things, Cvlt Fest and Full Tilt amongst many others.

14 Torizon - Meanjin/Brisbane, QLD


Petalcore band Torizon released their first single 'Damaged' in 2024 and have since added EPs 'Echoes' and 'Meliora' in 2025.


Torizon has previously toured with The Last Martyr, Pyrokinesis, Grizzlyshark, Broken Earth, GhostSeeker and Revoid.

15 Ironstone - Naarm/Melbourne, VIC


Progressive Deathcore band Ironstone debuted in 2023 with the single 'Deadly Laser' and have since added 'A Shadow Of My Former Self' in 2025.


Ironstone' has previously performed with GhostSeeker, Arkángel, Witchgrinder, Ne Obliviscaris, Spacegoat, The Omnific, Lean In and Heartline, as well as featured at Metal United Down Under, Sanctuary, and Outcast Festival.
