Hollywood legends Black Veil Brides have released their fourth single for the year with Revenger featuring the metal giant Robb Flynn of Machine Head. Revenger is featured on the forthcoming Seventh Album Vindicate;

which will be available on the 8th of May. Black Veil Brides have reached the everyday audience recently with an iconic move from the WWE who used the previous release BVB hit Woe & Pain as the soundtrack for the Cody Rhodes VS Randy Orton for Wrestlemania 42. After seeing BVB perform as the direct support of Falling in Reverse last year, including Bleeders, the recent North American tour announcement with From Ashes To New, TX2 and As December Falls and now with this mammoth feature we can only hope that it means a Black Veil Brides and Machine Head tour is inbound. As a fan of BVB since the Knives and Pens days, you will not hear a complaint from me.

"I have always been interested in the sort of ethical dilemma that we have culturally of cheering for justice. I thought it would be an interesting exercise to write lyrics from the perspective of someone who is trying to seek out the ultimate form of justice. Because I was writing from someone else's voice, this felt like the kind of song that would be best served by having someone else's voice on the song. So, we brought in Robb Flynn of Machine Head. The reason he came to mind first was of course his voice, tonality and style I thought was perfect for this. He is also someone who was one of the first real defenders of Black Veil Brides. In the early days when we were getting absolutely shit on by every other metal band, Robb Flynn and Machine Head stood up for us and said positive things about us and has maintained that for years and years. I think it's one of my favorite songs on the record.”

Revenger holds the classic dark and dramatic aesthetic that you would expect from Black Veil Brides, with the intensely powerful drumming prowess of Christian, unrelenting mayhem of the string section, and the ever enthralling vocals of Andy Biersack. At the near halfway mark the

energy shifts as Robb enters the piece with his gravelly timbre and guitar solo shining through. The only critique I have is that I would have loved more time for Robb to feature with Andy. His voice pairs extraordinarily well with Andy's, causing a light and shadow effect and it would have been great to hear more of that. At the point that Robb enters the song, you can feel the hushed pause, like there is space for him to enter the room and it marks the shift and build incredibly well. Prepare for this track to be absolute mayhem in a pit environment with a fight pit being an almost certainty. While listening to the track I kept getting into a Parkway Drive head space with the merging of styles from Black Veil Brides and Machine Head hitting the nostalgia notes.
