metalcore band have released ten Albums and three live Albums in their 20+ career so far. As the band surrounds themselves with Australian acts Polaris, Make Them Suffer and The Amity Affliction I would be lying if I said I wasn't excited about what their forthcoming Tour is going to look like. "With pit-stirring breakdowns, fist-in-the-air, "Hey! Hey! Hey!" singalong choruses, and chunky riffs, it's a cathartic anthem that speaks directly and forthrightly to the frustrated and disaffected, and serves as the powerful connective tissue between the band and its fans."

"Sonic Salvation was the first song I wrote for Season of Surrender," says Brubaker. "I set out to write a song that created more space for Jake vocally and leaned a little more into our hardcore influences. I love how this song came out and Jamie's guest vocal really takes it over the top for me."

Sonic Salvation is a powerful expression of the impact and strength of music, and if you have been reading my work for a while you will know I talk about that fairly frequently. The highs and lows of the track feels like

you are on a roller coaster of connection to music, crowd and source all at once. The quiet before the chaos of the breakdown makes the effect more intense than I feel it would have if the song stayed at 1000 throughout the length of the track. For me, while sounding nothing alike in tempo or overall musical tone, but similar in energy, it holds the same feeling as Numb by Linkin Park; like screaming into the void wishing to be heard and seen. The video contains footage of fans further pushing the idea of music bringing people together in the most poignant way possible.

Luhrs says, "Sonic Salvation is about finding power and strength in music. The fact that music can bring us back to a memory, help us decompress from the outside world and how music is what has created our world that is the metal scene."

With further features of The Devil Wears Prada and Make Them Suffer, you just know Season of Surrender is going to be one for the ages.

August Burns Red will be touring Australia between the 27th of September and 4th of October as part of the Season of Surrender Tour with Bloom and I Promised The World. Tickets are available at the link:
