BRING ME THE HORIZON: DEHUMANIZED SINGLE REVIEW

I think it is safe to assume that collectively as an alternative music scene we are all not okay with the latest Bring Me The Horizon single drop, Dehumanized. If you were around for the OG Deathcore Oli Sykes vocals days like myself, you are more than likely pulling out your skinny jeans, Chuck Taylors (or Vans if you are wrong) and the colourful band t-shirts
in celebration. While it has been an amazing journey of musical discover through the years of the expanding discography of Bring Me, this little emo's heart has always held a very special place for This Is What the Edge of Your Seat Was Made For and Count Your Blessings. With Count Your Blessings l Repented due for Release on July 10th and following the release of Repented version of Black & Blue, it is safe to say that the hype around Bring Me The Horizon is higher than ever. While Count Your Blessings | Repented sees the Sheffield band revisit and completely re-record the album that launched their career, Dehumanized stands apart as the collection's sole new composition. Written two decades after the original album's release, the track serves as a bridge between past and present carrying the unrelenting aggression and chaos of the band's earliest material while reflecting the scope, ambition and sonic precision that have defined Bring Me The Horizon's evolution.
You were born to suffer, You were bred to bleed, Scraped from your mother's womb, Meat for the machine, Fat on milk and honey, Lulled by a gilded lie, We are becoming dehumanised. If you are uninitiated to Deathcore Bring Me The Horizon, Dehumanized will be a bit of a shock for
you, but this whole series of releases is just proof that BMTH's still got it and the foundational stones of their music has always been, and will always be, Deathcore. From the absolute chaotic whirlwind of guitars and drums, to the versatility of vocals in use, this song was designed to create absolute havoc and mayhem in a live setting, including the well place lead up to the breakdown that leaves perfect spacing for a wall of death. Hearing the iconic Oli "MOVE" for the first time sent a shiver through my body, awakening something inside of me that had laid dormant since my late teens, like a beacon being lit or an activation of a part of my former self left dormant. The hold 2000s Deathcore has over me is unmatched and Dehumanized ticked every single box, while simultaneously hitting the easy listen-ability of modern Deathcore production.

Defiled by darkness, our souls sodomised, We are becoming dehumanized. Warning for gore, slavery imagery and imprisonment for the music video. The Dehumanized video is peak 2000s foundation Deathcore and hits quite a few nostalgia points, with Suicide Season house party vibes, fake blood galore and the use of the iconic Mitch Lucker Stomp (R.I.P King). Looking past memory lane, the video
hits on such a deep level of expression for being the "cattle class" of the human race. Featuring a forced conscious C-Section, unhinged studying of limbs, blood soaked rooms, imprisonment, shaving heads and brainwashing amongst other grotesque elements that speak on slavery and genocide. In true Bring Me The Horizon fashion, they do not turn away from uncomfortable topics, instead leaning into them and shining light on the atrocities that have happened and are still happening to those outside of the "elite" class. Ugh, Kill each other, An infestation, Brain dead at birth, Disciples of desire, virulent, Scum of the Earth, Scum of the Earth, Scum of the Earth, Scum of the Earth.
