MUNK & PETAL FESTIVAL BREAKDOWN
With less than a month to go before Munk & Petal Punk & MetalFest takes over The Brightside, Brisbane, Queensland it is about time we give
you a breakdown of the bands who will be in attendance. With the promoters stating "It’s more than just a gig — it’s a gathering of diverse cultures, heavy riffs, and good vibes, bringing everyone together through a shared love of loud music." you know it is going to be a chaotically high energy day. Munk & Petal will take place on Saturday 28th of February with doors opening at 1pm.

Copecaine
Meanjin/Brisbane Hard-Rock four piece Copecaine have not released any recorded music on a service as of yet, but I have previously seen them play at BrewFest 2025, and the best way I can think of describing them is listening to Clutch in southern America while eating barbecue.
Old Ghosts
Meanjin/Brisbane Melodic Punk Group Old Ghosts have no music released to date, keep an eye out for their first release.

Krave
Krave is an alternative-rock three piece from Meanjin/Brisbane, debuting in 2019 with the single 'Running' in 2019. EP 'Self Exposure' (2021), 'Inner Asylum' (2021) and 'Only Human' (2024).
Krave have previously supported Valhalore, Amaranthe, Reliqa, Suicidal Tendencies and Avatar, amongst many others.

The Black Catapult
The Black Catapult debuted in 2015 with their Album 'All Grown Up'. They have since added Albums 'Jackson Street' (2019) and 'Live In Isolation' (2021), along with the EP 'The Black Catapult' (2025) to their discography.
The Black Catapult have previously toured with Frenzal Rhomb, Void of Vision and Windwaker, along with performing on Good Things 2016, PunkFest XMAS Bash, Schema, Vinnie's Isn't Dead, Unite The Fight and Where We Belong.

Emmy Hour
Meanjin/Brisbane Punk-Rock front woman Emmy Hour joined the scene in 2014 with the single 'Life of the Party Crasher' adding 'The Numero Uno Ep' to the her Discography in 2025.
Emmy has previously toured with/appeared on Frenzal Rhomb, The Gaslight Anthem, Jay & Larry Variety Hour, In The Fastlane Records Christmas Toy Fundraiser, Death By Mullet and From The Floor Up amongst many others.

RVN//NT is a Meanjin/Brisbane Metalcore four-piece, hitting the scene in 2024 with their single 'Void of Mind'. Along with EP 'Revenant' (2024) RVN//NT have released several singles, including the latest 'Sleepless' released on December 11 2025.
Worlds Collide, Horror in the Valley, Jacarok, Metal United Down Under, The Naughty List A Buzzkill Christmas Special, HollowFest, Core To The Floor and Rock Beats Depression amongst many local acts.

Burnt Trash
Meanjin/Brisbane garage punk rock band Burnt Trash joined the music scene in 2022 with the single 'I sat still', later releasing the EP 'Time To Die'.

Outer Control
Mulubinba/Newcastle based skater-punk band Outer Control hit the scene with their Album 'Heading to Uranus' (2020) and have since released 'Attic Sandwich' (2025) and singles 'Away' 'Signal'.
Outer Control has performed on Where We Belong, Indie sounds from the sunny coast, Rumble for Jungle, Mission to March along with a bunch of local artists.

Serial Killer Dinner Party
Meanjin/Brisbane punk rock band SKDP formed in 2016, releasing single 'No Prince Charming' in 2017. They have since released the EP 'I Know, That You Know, That You Need It' (2018) and several singles, including the latest 'Take The Sound' in 2024.

Adriatic
Meanjin/Brisbane Hardcore-Progressive Metal band hit the scene with their Album 'Planina' in 2013. Adriatic have since added the Albums 'Koreni' in 2020 and 'Krilé' in 2023.

Ess-EM
Gadigal/Sydney folk punk-rock band Ess-EM debuted in 2015 with their Album 'Ess-EM' and have since released EP 'Plan B' (2018) and Album 'Support What You Love' (2022) 'Perro Negro'.
Ess-EM has previously performed with Jay & Lindsay Variety Hour and appeared on Still Not Dead Fest, NS(F)W Weekender, Benefit show to aid Gaza, Get Folked Punk!, Danson Fest, The Marty Party and SkaNation.

War Bear
War Bear hit the scene in 2018 with their self titled EP 'War Bear', followed by EPs 'Wrecked 'em' (2023) and 'Your Move Creep' (2024), with their latest single release 'Slug God' in May 2025.
War Bear has previously toured with Bleeding Through and appeared at The Naughty List A Buzzkill Christmas Special and Hardcore Halloween amongst others. War Bear hosted their first festival last year called 'SlugFest' which has rumoured to be returning in 2026.

Kimura
Boorloo/Perth based Metal band Kimura debuted onto the scene in 2016 with their EP 'Kintsukuroi', followed by EP 'Euthanize-Sterilize' (2018), Album 'Circle the Prey' (2021) and single 'Lifeless: Spite' (2025).
Kimura have featured on Stop The Violence, The Eyes of Medusa, Tōkyō BrutalFest 2025, Blood Sacrifice, Back From The Dead, Dark Down South, Metal United Down Under, Nowhere Festival and Kalbarri Open Air amongst many others.

The Decline
The Decline is a skate punk band from Western Australia, debuting in 2008 with EP 'The Same Kind', following with Albums 'I'm Not Gonna Lie To You' (2010), 'Are you Gonna Eat That?' (2011), 'Resister' (2015), 'Flash Gordon Ramsay Street' (2019), 'Magical Misery Tour' (2023) and EPs 'Can I Borrow A Feeling?' (2014) and 'Year of the Crow/Stay Awake' (2020).

Meanjin/Brisbane We The Hollow debuted in 2021 with the single 'Spineless', followed by the EP 'Self Reflection' (2022) and singles 'Born To Hate' (2023), 'Here To Stay' (2024) and 'Screen Time' (2025).
WTH have previously toured with Machine Head and Fear Factory, appearing at BrewFest 23 & 25, Alternate Heavy Fest, HelvegenFest Borderline Destruction, Kaiju Fest, amongst others, including their own Festival HollowFest.

Arizona, USA punk-rock band Authority Zero debuted in 2002 with the Album 'A Passage In Time', followed by Albums 'Andiamo' (2004), 'Rhythm and Booze Live' (2006), '12:34' (2007), 'Stories of Survival' (2010), 'Less Rhythm More Booze' (2012), 'The Tipping Point' (2013), 'Broadcasting To The Nations' (2017), 'R & B III' (2018), 'Persona Non Grata' (2018), 'Live at The Rebel Lounge' (2019), 'Ollie Ollie Oxex Free' (2021) and 'RBIV Rebel Rhythm' in 2025.
