NSW/VIC Alt Rock band Soulsleep have released their latest single 'SUPERSONIC' and you need to be sitting down for this one. Soulsleep took to the scene in 2023 with their debut single 'Youngblood', followed by several singles and their EP 'I'm Not Myself Lately' in July 2025. Soul sick, Soul splits, Supersonic, Lost, Trust, Hate, Love, Falling, All of the

games, You twisted and I played along with you, It's always the same, no change, We stop and start again, But end the same, I pull away but can't stop falling, You can replay me, Over and over again, You got me soul sick, You make me want it. SUPERSONIC marks a new chapter in the ever developing style of Soulsleep, pushing to something heavier that will have you wondering where the track is going next; genre bending with the effortless skill of Bring Me The Horizon. There is something inherently off-putting about the distorted robotic vocals that is employed throughout the song, adding weight to the overall theme of control and manipulation. The flow of the track will have you bopping and swaying as you are pulled in like a fish on a line, before

the track slips into darker and moodier territory before finally grabbing you by the throat as it dives into a metalcore style breakdown that will have you stank facing. Overall SUPERSONIC builds in such a smooth and carefree way that you don't realize it is happening until you have fallen over the edge. I personally listen to quite a bit of k-pop and SUPERSONIC breathes the same sort of air into the room, high energy and an unpredictable of where the hook is going to come from with a pop-ability that will rope anyone in. And now you're supersonic, Back and forth you always push and pull, Mental state erratic no control, The patterns re-arrange, You hit the pause and then restart the game, I pull away but then I'm dragged back to you,

And I can't explain myself, You can replay me, Over and over again, You got me soul sick, You make me want it, Soul splits. Vocally, Jake has a beautiful tone, with subtle uses of vibrato that hits the ear in a significant way that will draw that emotion out of you. Jake has an enormous vocal range, from highs and lows in clean vocals to heavy fry and guttural style singing. The gentle tapping into the fry throughout the first two-thirds of the song gives you all the hints of where you are going to go, almost as if you are being led by the hand of a siren who is holding eye contact with you while they lead you into the depths of the water. Musically SUPERSONIC starts you off gentle and easy before jumping into a bouncy and electric space with the heavy use of
guitar effects, electronics and rhythmic drumming. As the song switches to the heavier aspects a lot of the electronics is dropped to make way for crushing guitars and high tempo drumming. The track is a roller coaster, pushing and pulling you in many directions while being stuck on a track you can't escape from. SUPERSONIC is marked as a certified banger and would definitely have a crowd moving in a live setting. You're f*cking supersonic, Push the buttons play with my head, Seeing red is boarderline death, Been through shit not gonna pretend, You're supersonic, Chances are getting thinner, Who will be the winner, Who's gonna pull it quicker, Who's gonna pull the trigger.
