Within Reach is a press proclaimed 'Teenage Metalcore Sensation' from London, England, debuted onto the scene in 2021 with their single 'Our Change', following it up with their EP 'Pariah' in 2023 before coming to land on their latest release 'Hesitate'. Hesitate is the second single to be

unleashed this year, leaving us in a space to watch what is yet to come next from this up and coming metalcore force. From where I stand, could you see through the haze? Take my hand, I'll show you the way, This place you chase was here all along, Don't hesitate, you were always enough. It is very easy in life to get caught up into the idea of not being enough, or bringing value to those around you, especially with the state of the world today and the seemingly never ending fighting up hill to get anywhere, but Within Reach are here to tell you you have always been and will be enough and loved and the world would be different without you in it.

"I wanted the narrative point of this song to open the listeners eyes. Life has its obstacles and sometimes we get consumed by these things that make us lose sight of what matters and our true selves. It’s even harder watching loved ones go through these motions and this is what the song was born from. The lyrics come from the stand point of these loved ones because I wanted to convey the juxtaposition in value to how someone can view themself compared to how valuable they are through the eyes of the people around them which is what I felt was a subject that needed light shed on it because I feel this song is a song people need to hear in the masses. The song moved me as I wrote it, I’m confident it’ll do the same for the people." - Bailey Dopson Guitarist/Co-Vocalist

Pushing forward against the grain, Reaching out but it's all in vain, Look at the sky and the space between, There's always hope if you still believe, 'Cause I know how it feels to be so alone, Know how it feels to be so numb, Piece by piece, we can start again, This is not the end. While I think the most important part of Hesitate is the message, it is definitely necessary to talk about the musicality, so we are going to start with Kenzie on dirty vocals and Bailey on clean vocals. Sharing the spotlight equally, Kenzie and Bailey support each other throughout the track, layer harmonies and holding weight in all the right places. Bailey has a smooth tone that cuts through the instruments like a

knife, with a beautiful yet subtle use of vibrato. Kenzie seems to be very in touch and connected with his voice for someone so young, producing a solid scream with varied tones and pleasant vocal timbre. Instrumentally Hesitate has a hopeful, longing and uplifting feel to it; like the extended hand of a friend who has found you in the darkness and is pulling you towards the light. Shifting between the lighter and heavier sections presents the image of the battle it takes to get yourself back on track and heading in the right direction once more. There are some interesting guitar riffs that bring a necessary breath into the song, while the drum fills hit like a punch to the stomach. Pull back the mask and see the face I hide, To see the world through different eyes, Tear down the walls and never look back, I won't let you fade into the black, This is not the end, This is just the beginning.
