Sydney Metalcore band Engraved have released their latest single 'Bleed'. Engraved took to the scene in 2022 with their debut single 'Follow Your Idol' followed by their EP 'Unleashed' (2022) and several singles. As I wake, There’s only so much I can take, Feeling weak, Fearing for the day

that breaks, Eyes peeled back, I’m wearing thin, Cause for grief where have you been, I’m stable now it’s setting in, We’re tortured by the hate within, Tortured by the hate within! The track starts with the sound of church bells, crows and galling winds, immediately setting the tonne of a graveyard before it jumps into the powerful voice of Panda; his heavy metal tones jumping from lows to highs effortlessly and rumbling timbre notes slipping in adding weight to the conversation. As the subject realises they were being played the vocals switches to heavier frys and gutterals, showcasing the frustration and pain of the situation. With vocals a beautiful mix of Winston McCall and Howard Jones, the depth of story telling will hit heavy in your ear and your chest as Bleed plays out.

"Bleed" is a raw, unflinching exploration of toxic competition and the dark side of human nature. The track delves into the psychological warfare that unfolds when someone becomes so consumed by envy that they'll sabotage themselves just to see you fail. With gritty guitar riffs and haunting vocals, the song captures the moment you realize someone you trusted has been orchestrating your downfall all along. It's a powerful anthem about recognizing manipulation, reclaiming your power, and rising above those who thrive on bringing others down. This hard-hitting single confronts the uncomfortable truth that some people would rather watch the world burn than see you succeed.

Musically Bleed is a nostalgia bomb for anyone who grew up in the original release era of Bullet For My Valentine and Trivium. This is by no means me saying that Engraved have stolen any of their music, more that you could tell me this was released at the same time, with better vocal techniques and I would believe you. The track begins with the cleanest riff and cymbal work, that will throw you

right back in time. While I wish more of the despair was brought into the guitars, you do get a sense of someone watching your life from the outside as they pray for your demise. While listening to Bleed I kept getting an image of a person standing concealed by a tree, watching someone from afar as they went about their day, an expression of hatred on their face. There is a point at the three minute mark that is the perfect place for a crowd chant, so I am eager to see if that becomes a staple for Bleed performances. No point to argue we don’t agree, This part of you that died in me, Once for the mind that stays awake, Twice for the soul you tried to take, You’ve had enough of me! The parts you’ll never see, Who do you want me to be.
