KNOTFEST AUSTRALIA 2027 PREDICTION LIST
Iconic band Slipknot, formed in 1995 in Iowa, USA took a break from Knotfest Australia in 2026, having promised to return in 2027 (usually held in early March). With Slipknot making moves with the release of their latest single Arsenal on September 9th and front man Corey Taylor featuring on Falling in Reverse's latest single Joseph on September 14th,

we thought it would be fun to start the conversation of prediction lists for the 2027 Festival. Knotfest usually sticks within the fourteen to fifteen band range on the bill so I will stay within that spectrum. I of course have placed Slipknot as the headliner and have placed the remaining list in order of performance based on monthly listener count with a slight adjustment for expected order where appropriate. I want to preface this list by saying I understand most bands have not released tour dates past November/Early December so there will be an updated list next year if necessary due to tour announcements.
Orthodox
Orthodox is a Metalcore band from Nashville, USA, formed in 2011. Orthodox debuted with their Single I'm Scared of You on April 28th 2017, following it up with Albums Sounds of Loss (2017), Let It Take Its Course (2020), Learning To Dissolve (2022) and A Door Left Open (2025), as well as 2025 EPs Keep Your Blessings and Orthodox on Audiotree Live.

I was fortunate to see Orthodox perform as Direct Support for the Final Brisbane performance of Stray From The Path, and in my opinion they would be a perfect opener for the festival, high energy and brutal in the best ways. Orthodox will be performing across Europe and the United States of America (tickets available at the link) with Aussie giants The Amity Affliction, between September and November.
Orthodox has previously toured with bands such as, Wage War, Terror, H2O, Dying Wish, Gates To Hell, Comeback Kid, Gideon, Stick To Your Guns and August Burns Red amongst many others. Falling In Reverse
I know that this will probably be the most fought-over choice on this list as Falling In Reverse sits in the unfortunate position of being the Nickelback of the Metal world, where it is popular to hate on the band. However, with over 9 Million monthly listeners on Spotify alone, winning Band of the Year, Song of the Year, Music Video of the Year and a Song Hall of Fame Induction amongst the many other awards and nominations that Falling In Reverse has to their name, they also hold Silver, Gold and Platinum Certifications across their Discography making it hard to deny their musical talent and general popularity. I saw Falling In Reverse when they performed at The Brisbane Convention Centre on March 18th 2025 (see if you can spot me in the picture below) and they were absolutely incredible,

with an unmatched level of showmanship, vocal and musical skill, all with the added bonus of a comedy show in the mix.
Falling in Reverse formed in 2008 in Las Vegas, USA, debuting with the 2011 Album The Drug In Me Is You. F.I.R have since released Albums Fashionable Late (Delux Edition) (2013), Just Like You (Delux Edition) (2015), Coming Home (Delux Edition) (2017), Popular Monster (2024) and several stand alone singles, including God Is A Woman featuring Marilyn Manson (2025), All My Women (2025) and most recently Joseph featuring Corey Taylor and Serj Tankian on September 14th.

Slipknot
If I was to give you the full list of Slipknot's credentials we would be here all day, so I will try and speed run it as quickly as possible while staying informative; which is the downside of being a multi-generational influential band, where to start the historical breakdown. Slipknot released their debut Album Slipknot in 1999, taking the world by storm with their unique style. The band have since released Albums Iowa (2001), Vol. 3 The Subliminal Verses (2004), 9.0 Live (2005), All Hope Is Gone (2008), Sulfur (2009), Slipknot (10th Anniversary Edition) (2009), Antennas to Hell (special Edition) (2012), .5: The Gray Chapter (2014), .5: The Gray Chapter (Special Edition) (2014), The Studio Album Collection (1999-2008) (2014), Day Of The Gusano (Live) (2017), We Are Not Your Kind (2019), The End, So Far (2022), EP Adderall (2023), Slipknot (25th

Anniversary Edition) (2025), and most recently Single Arsenal (9 September 2026).
With such a long and distinguished career Slipknot have performed alongside some of the biggest names in Metal, including Rammstein, System of a Down, Korn, Gojira, Parkway Drive, Bring Me The Horizon, Slayer, Megadeth, Motionless In White, Knocked Loose and Metallica, to name but a few. Slipknot has appeared at festivals such as: Knotfest, Pledge of Allegiance, Inkcacerartion, Resurrection Fest, Ozzfest, Aftershock, Hammersonic and Sick New World along with many more.
Slipknot won a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance for the 2006 performance of Before I Forgot, as well as eight other nominations of Best Metal Performance between 2001 and 2024, Best Hard Rock Performance in 2005 and Best Rock Album in 2016.
Seeing Slipknot live for the first time was a life altering experience; the band are true masters of their craft, amplified by a light and pyrotechnic show so intense I was checking for my eyebrows.
