Naarm/Melbourne emo-pop punk band Tiny Red Houses have started 2026 off with a bang with the release of their first single of the year, 'Bridges'. Tiny Red Houses debuted onto the scene the single 'The End'

and have since unleashed several singles and album 'Start This Over' (2025). Growing up in peak "emokid" era with Hey Monday, Paramore, Fall Out Boy and Kisschasy, Tiny Red Houses is exactly the kind of music that makes my heart sing; confronting lyricism with an upbeat soundtrack that you can shout at the top of your lungs while dancing around the house. I think we ended in the same place You say you want to but you can’t change caught up in the moment Slowly slowly falling Didn’t think I’d notice Stayed too long, your lies the lighter Felt the flame as it grew higher Call without a warning Now I know im falling Trying to get a grip on it all. If you are in the market for a break up song, you just found it. Bridges takes you through the story of a person who has realised that they have

been entangled with someone who lies as easily as they breath and setting fire to the bridge to break that connection. How many times In the blink of an eye Oh I see through your lies Setting bridges a light Oh how many times Oh your bleeding me dry In the back of your mind Setting bridges a light. Musically Bridges starts with an interesting bass line that appears again at the end of the song, ending it in the same place it started. The bass in the beginning sounds like a strange yet interesting combination of a double bass and a hang drum and I can't recall hearing something like it before. There is an effective use of layering used throughout the track, that makes you feel

like you are losing your senses with the amount of voices swirling around in your mind. The guitars and drums pull you through the story from the state of confusion and frustration into a lighter place where the connection has been broken and there is once more a place for laughter. Natalie has a beautiful voice that has the classic feminine pop-punk sound, while holding how own unique inflections and tones. Gave you space to think it over Never happy when your sober Probably should’ve let go Better for it, I know Swallowing us up in the smoke I’ve seen this all before I’m losing grip on it all.
